Less than four years after their wildly successful Florida debut in O-Town West, the slider sensation is expanding its reach, bringing their iconic miniature burgers to Clermont, Kissimmee, and potentially even near the highly anticipated Epic Universe!
White Castle’s VP, Jamie Richardson, confirmed the exciting news, stating, “We can share that we will be opening a new location in Clermont, Florida, as well as developing a site in Kissimmee—Olde Town.” And the biggest tease of all? “White Castle is enthusiastic about the possibility of a new location near Universal. We are having productive discussions about this possibility but cannot confirm at this point.” Imagine grabbing a sack of sliders after a day at the parks!
Here’s a closer look at what we know so far:
-
Clermont: While the exact location and size are still under wraps, Clermont residents can soon look forward to their own taste of White Castle goodness. Stay tuned for more details!
-
Kissimmee – Olde Town: Construction is moving forward! Jamison Commercial has filed plans for a 3,200-square-foot White Castle complete with a double drive-thru, conveniently located near Olde Town at the corner of West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway and Holiday Trail. Get ready for quick and easy slider runs!
-
Near Epic Universe: This is the big one! Plans submitted to Orange County propose a massive 5,000-square-foot restaurant near the entrance to Epic Universe, situated on a 2.6-acre parcel at the northeastern corner of Universal Boulevard and McKenna Drive. This prime location would place it right next to the planned Marriott-branded W Hotel, complete with 400 hotel rooms, a 2,000-seat concert venue, and five bars and restaurants. Imagine the crowds fueling up on sliders before a show! This proposed location would be the chain’s largest if built as planned, dwarfing even the current O-Town West location.
This Orlando expansion comes as no surprise, considering the phenomenal success of White Castle’s existing Florida flagship. Since opening in 2021, the O-Town West location has become a record-breaking powerhouse, selling a staggering 5 MILLION sliders in its first year alone! They even used a mind-boggling 40,000 eggs for their breakfast sliders – enough to encircle Lake Eola! This location also smashed single-day sales records, beating the previous record by 15%. Due to this overwhelming demand, White Castle even opened a separate pickup and delivery location, “Crave & Go,” next door.
“The love that Central Florida has shown for White Castle since we opened our Castle doors in 2021 has been profound. We’re very excited for the future cravings we’ll be able to satisfy,” Richardson added.
The Kissimmee project was fast-tracked due to upcoming changes in Osceola County’s mobility fees, which are set to skyrocket. By securing permits before the increase, the developer will save nearly half a million dollars – a smart move that will ultimately benefit slider lovers!
So, mark your calendars, Orlando! The slider invasion is coming! Get ready for more late-night cravings, family meals, and slider-fueled adventures.
