Pulte Homes officially marked a historic milestone for Central Florida on April 2, 2026, with the ceremonial “First Plantings” at The Grow in East Orlando.
Rather than a traditional groundbreaking with shovels and dirt, this “living launch” focused on the community’s heart by planting the first seedlings for its nine-acre working farm. As the region’s first true agrihood, the 1,200-acre development represents a shift toward sustainable, farm-to-table living where agriculture and residential life are seamlessly integrated.
The Grow is designed to preserve 60% of its land as green space, offering residents a lifestyle centered around the seasons. The project features approximately 2,200 homes ranging from townhouses to large single-family estates, all styled with a “vintage farmhouse” aesthetic.
Beyond the central professional farm, the community includes 21 acres of community gardens and 12 miles of recreational trails, many of which are “edible trails” where neighbors can forage as they walk.
Life at The Grow extends beyond just housing, with plans for a farm-to-table restaurant, event barns, and an on-site elementary school that will incorporate agricultural education into its curriculum. With sales officially beginning this spring and prices starting in the low $400,000s, the community is poised to welcome its first residents later this year.
This development offers a unique alternative to urban sprawl, providing a high-tech connection to the nearby University of Central Florida while maintaining a deep, hands-on connection to the land.
