Sprouts Farmers Market is planning to open its ninth Orlando-area store in Clermont, Florida. The new location will be in the Shoppes at Hammock Ridge on U.S. 27, north of Cagan Crossings.
The Shoppes at Hammock Ridge owner has filed for environmental permits for the Sprouts store, which will be located on Lot 14, adjacent to the Staybridge Suites currently under construction. Nat Rassi of LCA Development and Realty confirmed that Franklin Land Associates, the parent company of GBT Realty Corp., has been under contract for the property for about three months. GBT Realty Corp. has developed ten Sprouts-anchored retail centers and recently broke ground on two more in Texas.
The addition of Sprouts as the anchor grocery store is expected to attract other retailers to the remaining parcels in Hammock Ridge Commons, according to Rassi.
Sprouts currently operates seven stores in the greater Orlando area and is slated to open an eighth, a 23,000-square-foot store, in Poinciana Lakes Plaza in the second quarter of 2025. The Clermont location will be their first in Lake County.
Known for its fresh, natural, and organic offerings, Sprouts operates 428 stores across 24 states, including 47 in Florida. The company, headquartered in Phoenix, plans to open 35 new stores in 2024, primarily using a 23,000-square-foot store model.
In addition to Sprouts, the Hammock Ridge Commons will also house a new Centra Care clinic. Jamison Commercial purchased Lot 8 in October 2024 for $1.55 million to build the urgent care facility.
