The Central Florida Commercial Association of Realtors (CFCAR) named two multifamily developments, one in Orlando and one in Kissimmee, as “Deals of the Year” at their Hallmark Awards. These projects, the Beaumont Redevelopment in Kissimmee and Society Orlando, both spearheaded by New York-based developers entering the Orlando market, were recognized for their transformative impact on their respective downtown areas.
In Kissimmee, The Allen Apartments, a 312-unit Class A community, anchors the 20-acre Beaumont Redevelopment, a $200 million public-private partnership between the city and Skyview Companies. Skyview Companies, completing their first Florida project after COVID, expressed satisfaction with the partnership, noting the project’s positive community reception. The next phase of the redevelopment will include a 100,000-square-foot medical office building.
In Orlando, Property Markets Group’s (PMG) 27-story Society Orlando tower, the city’s largest multifamily project to date, introduced the co-living concept to the downtown area. The project’s first phase, featuring 462 units, extensive amenities, and ground-floor retail, offers “rent by the bedroom” options, providing more affordable luxury living. PMG shared the award with its leasing, architecture, engineering, and construction partners.
CFCAR also introduced its inaugural Innovation Awards, recognizing four projects for their creativity, sustainability, and community impact:
- Northwest Square (Volusia County): Adaptive reuse of a church.
- 1881 Restaurant & Bar (Osceola County): Adaptive reuse of a historic hardware store.
- Crooked Can Brewery (Orange and Lake counties): Adaptive reuse of an apartment building and new brewery construction.
- Amazing Explorers Academy (multiple locations): Recognition of an innovative concept and expansion.
CFCAR President Sharisse Walton emphasized the unique and impactful nature of these projects, highlighting the crucial role of real estate professionals.
Additionally, the association presented Legacy Awards to Wanda Riley, Damien Madsen, and Gary Ralston for their significant contributions to the commercial real estate industry. The Strickland family, representing three generations of CCIM designees, received the Generational Excellence Award.
