The City of Ocoee is revamping its downtown, and they’ve chosen Mt. Dora-based G3 Development to lead the charge!
A Catalyst for Change:
Back in October, Ocoee put out a call for developers to help revitalize city-owned properties in the downtown core. G3 Development was the only company to answer, and they’ll be working with the city to bring the Downtown Master Plan to life.
This plan envisions a more vibrant downtown with:
- More small businesses and retailers
- Increased economic activity
- Improved walkability
- Easier access to the Starke Lake waterfront
Potential Project Sites:
The city has identified a few potential locations for development, including:
- Getting’s Point
- Bill Breeze Park
- The old City Hall on 150 N. Lakeshore Dr.
G3 Development’s Track Record:
G3 Development isn’t new to public-private partnerships. They’re currently working with other Central Florida cities on similar projects:
- Eustis: Helping the city pinpoint development opportunities and refine their Downtown Master Plan.
- Wildwood: Planning “The Railyard,” a mixed-use project featuring a parking garage and commercial space.
- Sanford: Partnering on a four-story mixed-use parking garage with residential units (still in the approval process).
Mount Dora Success:
In 2022, G3 Development secured approval for three projects in Mount Dora, with two currently under construction:
- A 12,000-square-foot building for The Yardery restaurant concept
- A 23,000-square-foot expansion for Steamroller Animation
Ocoee’s Potential:
G3 Development sees a bright future for Ocoee’s downtown, drawing inspiration from the success of other revitalized Central Florida downtowns.
Partnership for Progress:
Both G3 Development and the City of Ocoee are excited to collaborate. G3 believes Ocoee has the potential to become a thriving downtown destination, and they’re ready to be the catalyst for future private investment.
