The project, named Plant Street Commons, will bring a vibrant mix of residential and commercial spaces to a prime downtown location at 419 W. Plant St., on the corner of Plant Street and N. Central Ave.
Plant Street Commons is envisioned as a three-story building with ground-floor retail facing the bustling Plant Street. The upper floors will house ten apartments, offering residents convenient access to the shops, restaurants, and popular weekly farmers market below.
Eight two-story townhomes will be built on the backside of the property, transitioning seamlessly into the surrounding neighborhood. Three townhomes will line Central Ave., while five others will face Bay Street, replacing the two existing single-family homes currently on the property. A total of 27 parking spaces are planned, catering to both residents and retail customers.
While still in its preliminary stages, Plant Street Commons reflects the growing demand for retail space in Winter Garden. Adam Wonus, Partner at Atrium Capital Group, sees Winter Garden’s undeniable beauty as the perfect backdrop for this small-scale mixed-use project. Though tenants for the retail space haven’t been secured yet, the project aligns with the recent trend of infill developments in Downtown Winter Garden, following the footsteps of successful projects like the Smith & Main apartments and The Exchange office building.
